BIOGRAPHY

Chris first picked up a camera to document life and work in isolated areas of Canada's North. Places where stark landscapes became highlighted by constantly changing 24 hour light. Spending all his waking and sleeping hours with little or no barrier to the elements filled him with a wonderful sense of vulnerability. He soon realized his images were not just visual records of places he had been. They were glimpses of stories. The interactions between himself, other people, animals, plants, climate, and land. Chris has remained inspired by the organic forces of photography as his interests continue to grow. Chris graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a BSc in Biology and has worked at various locations in the western and central Arctic and on the westcoast as a biologist and ecoguide/interpreter. He currently lives on the flatlands working fulltime as a photographer in one of the sunniest places in the country.
